Hello Duelists! Today i wanted to take a step back from regular design and share a couple of simple “Promo” cards as a small token of appreciation to some members of the community that helped on this journey over the years. As we are approaching to the final set of the Millennium Chapter, i thought it would be a nice gesture to have these very first promotional cards listed here. I may create and add more in the future, but for now these are the seven chosen cards.
As a small disclaimer, the artwork of these specific arts was made using generative AI, as it was something really specific and targeted for a very niche audience.
Without further ado here are the first promo cards of this game:
PROMO-001: I had to start somewhere haha, so this one is for myself (Rolvak). The artwork represents the game mapping and rules adjustment done over the years, in a landscape of dunes made of literal maps that evoke the changes from the very first conception of the game around 2014 to what still lies ahead in the future.
PROMO-002: This one is for Ceres Golden Cross, who was a pivotal designer during the transition period between Kingdom Card Game (KCG) and the first solid version of Kingdom Duels around 2022. Alongside Breki he was instrumental in discussing and adjusting the rule system and cards towards a more consolidated version of the game. This artwork represent his username directly.
PROMO-003: This one is for Breki-BR, who was a pivotal designer during the transition period between Kingdom Card Game (KCG) and the first solid version of Kingdom Duels around 2022. Alongside Ceres he was instrumental in discussing and adjusting the rule system and cards towards a more consolidated version of the game. This artwork represent his LARP passion.
PROMO-004: This one is for Envy, who is the manga enthusiast and who built a great sister-project to Kingdom Duels in the form of a complete manga adaptation of the rules and cards. This artwork is a representation of the summoning of the “Magic and Wizards”, which is the original name of the cardgame in the manga.
PROMO-005: This one is for Yamitsukai, who is Panik’s most loyal fan and wages a crusade in hopes that Konami at some point will bring Barox and the rest of the guys some redemption and support. The artwork represents the player killer of darkness.
PROMO-006: This one is for frozenLake, who has been the most involved in community card design ever since Kingdom Duels got its release back in 2022, with really unique and creative designs. The artwork represents his username, but also is a reference to the spreadsheet and charts in which he tracks parallels between Kingdom Duels cards and yugioh official releases.
PROMO-007: This one is for Alden Redwood, who has been a great card designer and vocal fan of the projects. Despite some language barriers, he supports the project a lot (specially on DM’s haha), and is always involved in creating cards or bringing out new ideas. The artwork represents his username directly.
